April 20, 2009 – WEST CHESTER, PA – North American Cable Equipment, Inc. (NACE) announced today the Cabletronix family of CT-QAM-RJ45 QAM modulators designed to support DIRECTV hospitality applications. The CT-QAM-RJ45 accepts Pro:Idiom encrypted MPEG4-HD streams from Thomson Colony DIRECTV receivers via Ethernet, multiplexes and modulates over adjacent QAM256 channels. The Cabletronix CT-2QAM-RJ45, CT-4QAM-RJ45 and CT-8QAM-RJ45 respectively support 2, 4 and 8 QAMs at 38.8 mbps per QAM. These CT-QAM-RJ45 modulators include an advanced management application for configuring channel lineups, automating failure recovery, activating a stand by channel and providing remote, web-based administration.

The CT-QAM-RJ45 is in a 1U rack mountable chassis for standard 19” EIA racks, employs a solid-state operating system and is powered via a standard 120VAC outlet. These modulators use a headend and distribution system’s existing coax wiring for the QAM RF output and are stackable to handle large channel lineups.

CT-QAM-RJ45 QAM modulators can be purchased individually, as part of a complete Pro:Idiom solution with the Thomson Colony DIRECTV receivers and Ethernet hub, or as a complete pre-built headend system using NACE’s professional services group.
